Anyone who’s anyone in hair will know about the L’Oreal Professionnel Style & Colour Trophy, the legendary hair pro competition. It aims to shine the spotlight on professional hair talent and is the longest-running hair competition in the world, having begun in 1954.
This year though, there was a twist. Not only did it go digital for the first time, but the task of voting was opened up to the world outside of the hair industry, instead of limiting it to inside the hair bubble. This brought major exposure to the hair pro community and introduced hair lovers everywhere to the latest trends and talent.
This year’s national finales saw nine talented winners, out of a whopping 4,500, selected from nine countries to compete in the international finale. The final competitors were from Australia, Canada, France, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia and the United States.
L’Oreal Professionnel’s Run Le Hair Show – the international web series that shares inspiring content from inside L’Oreal Professionnel Paris and from hair pros around the world – dedicated a special live episode to the big finale on Monday where Massimo Tirimacco from Australia was announced as the 2021 winner.
We say, to not only win this prestigious trophy but also be part of such an exciting new format for both the competition and Run Le Hair Show is an incredible achievement. Congratulations!
