And it’s official… We’ve moved into 2024! And what better time to catch up with some of this year’s Colour World Genius Awards winners and celebrate the exciting year 2023 has been for them!
Kicking it off with Giuseppe Stelitano, the Innovative Colour Genius Award winner:
“Winning the Innovative Colour World Genius Award was truly an honour, a culmination of the dedication and passion I have for the world of colours and creativity. This accolade has driven me to further innovate and explore new avenues within my field.”
We love to hear that the CWGA, is opening doors for our winners!
“This year has been incredible! I took part in some of the major events such as the Colour Trophy, Alternative Hair Show, and the Tribu-te Show in Paris. I’ve launched my new visual collection ACROPOLIS, a project that allowed me to push boundaries and redefine the perception of Greek Mythology.”
Sounds pretty awesome to us… And there’s more.
“I’ve also had the privilege of mentoring aspiring creatives with our brand-new Creative Path programme, and I cannot wait to see what 2024 will bring.”
What a year for Giuseppe, we wish him all the best in 2024.
Up next, Paul Watts, Colour Communicator Genius:
“Debrief of my year… Where do I start, I suppose the biggest thing to happen is the birth of my daughter Rosa, at the awards no one knew we had a baby on the way, and I wanted to get the win for her.” So sweet!
“Winning a Colour Genius award, especially for colour communicator is massive for me, as I think my passion really comes from my consultations, getting clients excited before anything happens is what it’s all about for me. Clients seeing the award up in the salon also evokes conversation and for them instils what I’m doing for them is that of high regard.”
We all know how important a client consultation is to make sure you’re getting it just right for your client…
“Also, YouTube has been a mega year, hit 100k subscribers in January and growing, creating a second income to help support the salon is massive, my salon team are going from strength to strength and my international work with Joico keeps hitting new highs!! Big love for the award looking forward to 2024!!”

And now for Shane Aherne, Colour Correction Genius:
“Where do I start? What a whirlwind of a year it’s been! Since winning the Colour Correction Genius Award last year (which I still can’t actually believe happened)…”
We love a bit of humbleness, Shane your work was amazing!
“It means the world to me to have this recognition. We all go day to day creating absolute magic without anyone else being able to appreciate it too! That’s where social media actually comes in useful nowadays. If you’ve ever wanted to enter a competition like Colour World my advice would be DO IT! What have you got to lose? So you don’t make it this year… then you try again next year and the year after until eventually, it will happen. You have to make the first step it’s not just going to fall into your lap. Continue with education in areas you feel you could use additional assistance.”
Some excellent advice, hard work takes time!
“Since winning the award I have been travelling the world teaching hairstylists from big, staged events to intimate class education from USA, Germany & London.
This isn’t a ‘look what I’ve done’ it’s an ‘I’ve done it so you can do it too’
