Barbie and Taylor Swift were the iconic hair inspo for 2023, whether you were after something bright like Barbie or warmer and natural like Taylor, blondes were it. With over half of the population blonde, we’re confident blondes are still in for 2024! We’ve spoken with Lea Shaw, Joico UK’s blonde ambassador, let’s find out what she says…
“Warmer blonde shades are trending, and they’re predicted to continue to do so well into the warmer months. From muted blonde to golden hour blonde, these shades will be all the rage in 2024. If you’re looking to move away from the icier colder blondes for another year, here are my predictions for this season’s transitional blonde shades that will leave you feeling like a brand-new person!”
Muted Blonde
“‘The Taylor Swift Effect’ has seen a rise in clients asking for this stunning shade, and rightly so!
This tawny, mousey blonde is perfect for the transition into the warmer months, and the versatility means this subtle shade can work for most colour palettes, with a cool acorn base and subtle blonde pieces blended through the hair. Muted blonde can be effortlessly personalised to suit your features and skin tone without being too much of a change. This is the ideal colour for those not wanting to commit to the upkeep of brighter blondes, or if you’re transitioning for a darker shade and just want to try something new!”
Creamed Honey:
“Cosy blonde took over at the end of 2023 but say hello to its sister – Creamed Honey. Super-polished hair is trending this season, and creamed honey is one of the best shades to go if you’re after those ‘old money’ vibes. This buttery blonde tone is flattering for those with warmer undertones and accentuates the face’s features. This dreamy, creamy shade strikes the perfect balance between blonde and warm, being a perfect honey hue for those who want to go warmer, but not blonde.”
Golden Hour Blonde:
“The golden girl of the blonde world. As soon as the sun starts to peek through those dark wintery clouds, we’ve got one thing on our mind – going blonder. This golden, sun-kissed hue is perfect to warm up the transition into the spring months. Golden Hour blonde is a favourite amongst celebrities and clients alike, giving the illusion of highlights which would appear naturally after sitting in the sun for a long period of time. To achieve the golden hour blonde, I’d start with a blonde base to lighten the hair, then blend warmer highlights to give the hair that warmer hue. This blonde is a natural but bright shade that’ll make you feel like you’re living in an endless summer.”
