The ‘It Girl’ collection

We sometimes take our sexual freedom for granted in today’s society, if it wasn’t for bold and risk-taking women, life could be much different… That’s why this collection resonates so much with us. 

The ‘It Girl’ collection created by Mikelah-Jayde Riley beautifully captures hairstyles by prominent 20th Century female sex symbols. 

“How did we reach the sexiness of today?” Mikelah tells us this was her biggest question when creating this collection. 

So, how did we? 

Through drawing inspiration from famous looks worn by Marilyn Monroe, Farah Fawcett, Pamela Anderson, Anna Nicole Smith, Sharon Tate, Madonna, Christie Brinkley, Elizabeth Taylor and Bridget Bardot… Mikelah captured a modern take on these beautiful styles that have been rocked across the decades. 

The beauty of the 21st century is how far tools have evolved, as Mikelah tells us “that back in the day, many styles were created with roller sets and hairspray.” Now, Mikelah was able to further modernise the looks by adding “contemporary colour, volume and texture to continue the fun and flirty mood.”
