Versatility by Bernat Sayol (from Salones Carlos Valiente) is a journey through the life cycle of a woman: ‘Each image represents a stage, from childhood to maturity’.
With very versatile cuts, loaded with technique and precision, the collection’s creator highlights ‘the illusion of childhood, the rebelliousness of adolescence, the sobriety of maturity and the calmness of old age’. This tour through a woman’s life reflects that of a modern woman in a contemporary context, as reflected through the photography and choice of colours and styles. It is the modern version of the most classic story.
A collection of strong looks which are not going to be widely appealing for many clients, so not really commercial. On the other hand, Versatility is an interesting one for hairdressers as it shows how exciting it can be to marry colour and extreme texture. We’re often used to seeing shine and contrast used to highlight the application of colour. Here it is matte texture that brings out the colour pop!
