Creativity continues whether travel is stifled, salons are closed and budgets cut; we design our own imaginative journey using experience and skill. Hairdresser Jose Urrutia shares his latest exploration with us:
Hair seems almost felted for a dense texture, while colours are reminiscent of natural, mineral tones.
The inspiration
Jose says that making Design was a creative journey through new textures in which he uses different qualities of hair, both natural and textile, evoking everything that resurfaces, that is created anew, through the volcanic fire that emerges from rocks.
The images reflect the expansive process of the lava with its games of colors; the evaporation of fire in the smoke, which causes the strands to rise; and the incandescent details that mix with the ash tones. A combination of living and inert materials, of hot and cold tones, that shape a new design of reality.
