Pretty much every hairdresser talks about the endless possibilities of working in our industry, and a blended workload is not unusual. We love hearing stories about the freedom this gives you. Recently hairdresser and make-up artist Emelie Eriksson (@mli.emelie.eriksson) got in touch to share her journey, and if you’re looking for a way to inspire a youngster career wise, this is it.
Emelie Eriksson
Finnish, speaking English and based in Spain, Emelie is a hair and make-up artist. She’s also acquired skills as a photographer so can now capture her own images as well as work for clients. A triple threat! Her film and TV experience include working on Sweden’s Got Talent (yes, they have one, too); she has editorial credits for fashion and bridal shoots; and she’s worked with some of today’s most well-known celebrities.
In the past few years alone, Emelie worked in Stockholm to broaden her TV and film experience, before enjoying a stint working in Paris, assisting celebrity stylist and make-up artist Harold James. Here she raised her game to include jobs with Kim Kardashian, Kendell Jenner, Bella Hadid, Beyoncé and many more. This time also offered the opportunity to work on big weddings all over France.
Pink Blossom
Today Emelie is settled in Barcelona, and a quick look at her website shows how she retains all her skills in a rounded offering of hair, make-up and photography. Now adding education to the mix. She is keen to share this latest avant-garden shoot, Pink Blossom, experimenting with added hair pieces to create the illusion of a hat. But the eclectic gathering of photography on her Instagram accounts and website bear testament to this 360º take on hairdressing. We love it!
