Green Salon Collective is THE ONLY verified and approved salon recycling system worldwide!

Our vision is to raise the standard of the hair and beauty industry by enabling salons to become more ethical and sustainable environments for not only the salon, but for the stylists and salon guests too.

Our unique recycling programme together with our education, enables salons & freelancers in the hair and beauty industry to gain new like-minded clients by becoming true, ethical, sustainable businesses that turn the waste in your bins into meaningful wins.

Every item of salon waste can be used again to benefit our industry, community, and the environment.

The sad truth is that mixed recycling does not work. It causes cross-contamination within the bin bags, causing many salon items to be sent to landfill.

By providing a circular economy for salons, Green Salon Collective are the solution.

To join us, buy a starter kit from the shop (from £99); this is a one-time-only purchase; from this point on, you purchase return boxes from us via a pay-as-you-go system.

You fill your boxes with bags of hair, foil, colour tubes etc., and when the box is full, we take it away.  Our returns boxes hold approximately 400 clients’ worth of waste, cost £140 and are the biggest recycling boxes available on the market.

Our system is 100% pay-as-you-go and is funded by your clients paying a discretionary £1 green fee on each visit.

We have no hidden fees, no contracts or direct debits.

Most salons profit from our system, and are cost-neutral at worst.

This year, Karine Jackson is the Sustainable Curator of CW23, with Green Salon Collective assisting as part of the ‘Colour World Warriors’ team. We’re excited to share that there will be an award for the most sustainable stands, which is a great opportunity to show off your sustainability creds!

Our aim is to help both the exhibition and each participant achieve their sustainability goals, and to share information and good practice that will enhance and expand those goals.

That’s why we’ve put together a handy checklist below to help you make the most sustainable plans possible for Colour World 2023, and hopefully this gives you some inspiration for things you could improve on as well as things you may already be doing well!
