The “Light. Time & Color” collection is the latest project that encompasses the research of Davines’ Hair Art Director Tom Connell into the interpretation of each woman’s individuality, going beyond hairstyling and the pure creation of a look to get closer to fashion, music, architecture and design through multiple references. Each portrait of this collection contains references to socio-cultural, musical and artistic contexts that have influenced Tom Connell’s perception, making it difficult for this collection to integrate into the simple context of hairdressing, but rather making it very close to a work of art.

Colour takes centre stage, leaving technique in the background. First, people see the unusual shades of colour as the guide to interpreting the image. Each tone, be it strong and original, is still sober and elegant; the meticulous development of the colour shades is harmonious, revealing details and contrasts that are sometimes delicate and quite clear.

An awareness-raising project that outlines the company’s path to net zero emissions by 2030.

To take concrete action against the problems linked to climate change, Davines began to reduce its carbon footprint back in 2006. This has led to the company becoming carbon neutral in 2018 by monitoring, reducing and offsetting all emissions caused by group activities under their direct control and produced by their offices, production departments and energy supply. A remarkable result but still not enough – which inspired the claim for the project “Still we are not there yet.”

Since 2019, Davines, along with 800 B Corporations, have been committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2030, 20 years ahead of the goal established by the Paris Agreement for 2050.

Achieving net-zero emissions is a declaration of intent beyond carbon neutrality because it recognizes companies’ indirect responsibility. It is a goal that can only be achieved thanks to constant calculation and monitoring of emissions and the subsequent reduction of greenhouse gases not solely through direct action on emissions but by involving everybody in the supply chain. This is only made possible by working together to choose raw materials, raise awareness, improve processes, logistics and the handling of production waste, and much more. Finally, in 2020, Davines took part in the Regeneration 20|30 project, an alliance of companies, institutions and associations committed to an ecological and economic transition to a more sustainable future.
