The Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Project: Colour set 2022 off with a bang thanks to a seriously inspiring day of colouring with wigs. And who better to be leading the day than session stylist and salon owner Adam Reed? “Having Adam mentoring for the new team was great,” said project leader Paul Dennison. “He brought a great energy, made the day relaxed and fun and gave great insight into how he likes to work.”
Paul and the team went over to Adam’s East London salon where Adam told them; “I want to create hair that makes people stop for a second to look closer. Maybe it’s a weird texture or the shiniest hair they’ve ever seen. But irrespective, it held their attention. That’s what great hair should do.”
The team certainly seemed to enjoy themselves and picked up an array of inspiring tips from Adam, who has worked in the hair industry for over 20 years. “I really enjoyed learning all about Adam’s career and how he came to be the amazing hairdresser that he is today,” said Kayleigh Byrne from Tribe Salons. “He gave us lots of advice and really pushed our creativity to the next level.”
Other team members enjoyed learning new techniques; “We spent the day colouring wigs and really focused on placement,” commented Sophie Perfect from GFC Hairdressing. “We went in with the ‘less is more’ approach – it’s amazing the results you can get by tweaking what’s already there.”
Sounds like a productive, motivating day was had by all!
