CWUK22 is live!

‘Dream in colour’ read the T-shirts of our helpers, and that’s what we wanted at Colour World 2022 last weekend! To inspire you in all things about hair colour. After a Covid-enforced break of two years, our live gathering drew colour aficionados from all over the country at  MC Motors in London. Here we had more than 18 brands, masses of independent colourists both demo-ing looks and techniques, and talking all things colour from education to motivation. Hair heroes rubbed shoulders with trainees, icons mingled with award-winners… at Colour World we are all on the level. No barriers, no boundaries. It’s #colourtastic

Over the weekend we posted and reposted more than 1000 stories on Instagram, and reached nearly 1million accounts with our media. Browse these galleries, and see who and what you can spot. If you were one of the 1500 through the door, see if you’re in the pictures! [All credit to photographer David Hindley for this lot]

Colour Shair

Colour Shair areas where colour experts including  Connor Doyle, Nicola Smythe, Safy B, Rick Roberts, Samantha Cusick, Christian Wiles, Heffy Wheeler, Amy Mitchell, Steve Naylor- Hall, Karolina Saunders, Rebecca Paignton, Anthony Grant,  Daryl Starkey, Barry Maddocks, Nikita Fisher, Aline Knee and Tia Lambourne, to name but a few inspired and educated an enthralled audience with their colour choices, applications and outstanding results over the two days.

Talking Colour

Talking Colour sessions hosted by John Spanton featured many of the questions that colourists are asking including – ‘managing client expectations’, ‘do colour trends still matter?’ and ‘how can colour services be more sustainable?’, which gave attendees plenty to think about.   Stand-alone sessions from Karine Jackson, Connor Doyle and Siobhan Jones were as informative as they were thought provoking and Colour World founder Nicky Pope stepped into the chair to interview Jack Howard, Connor Doyle, and Paul Mitchell Co-Founder John Paul De Joria.  These small intimate sessions provided so much information and knowledge for attendees to go back to the salon and shine.

Everywhere you looked the brands were showcasing the latest innovation in colour. Colour Ambassadors were taking the lead, showing so many incredible colouring techniques and creating exceptional results.  Colour World provided the perfect opportunity to ask all the questions you wanted to ask. Sustainability was a key talking point with the Green Salon Collective showing how salons could do their bit to protect our environment by collecting waste including foil and hair.  Vish also showed how business’ could become instantly more profitable with their colour management system and Scrummi’s towels were a hit with the demonstrators and salons looking to do they all to protect our world.  Italian brand Insight brought their sustainable and vegan colour brand to Colour World for the first time in 2022.

All the brands, all the shows and more…

Haircuts for the Homeless, found several new ambassadors over the weekend whilst highlighting the great work they do throughout the UK, and Olaplex provided products for demonstrators to use at the busy backwash area.  Aveda presented stunning colour and styling work and Louis Byrne brought his I Can I Am I Will Confessional to Colour World spreading positivity, empowerment, and intent, encouraging attendees to embark on a journey of self-discovery.  L’Anza provided many attendees with the opportunity to recharge and chat with their charging station and after all this if refreshments were on your mind, you could visit the  Paul Mitchell fragrant herb wall and pick your herbs to add to your gin and tonic or walk into the courtyard and sip a cocktail from the Revlon Cocktail Menu.

Colour World puts colourists in the spotlight, gets the colour conversations going and keeps us inspired.  We’re already looking forward to 2023.
