Anne Veck has a newly-revamped and relocated Bicester salon, and it is a true labour of love. Designed and project-managed by Anne – with a little help from her partner Keith, and brothers Eric and Sylvain, and nephew Phil – she has created an environmentally-conscious salon, sited five-minutes from Bicester Village outlet centre.
Eco-friendly and sustainable
We’re big fans of all sustainable activity here at Colour World, and applaud Anne’s initiatives and effort to cut her carbon footprint. Her new Bicester salon is fully on-board using biodegradable Easy Dry towels; recycled card and paper for all stationery; with carbon positive printing from local eco printers Seacourt; plus ethical telephone calls and broadband (100% carbon neutral – who knew!?). The salon is also equipped with infrared heaters – made from recycled materials – which consume 60% less energy than standard convection heaters and produce no CO2. Nice!
Featuring an interior inspired by Anne’s recent trip to Namibia, all the furniture including the reception desk, styling stations, the colour table, retail display area, colour bar, and cupboards is… you guessed it! Designed and built under supervision by Anne and her brothers. We’re particularly partial to the large round colour table in the centre of the salon, made from an old cable drum, fitted with plug sockets so clients can charge their phones whilst their colour is developing… Creating a communal space to sit, read, work or chat is so much better than staring at yourself in the mirror – good thinking, Anne.
