As we move out of winter’s darker depths and into the brightness of spring, there’s a noticeable shift happening in the salon chair. Men are stepping into the light, embracing fresher, brighter tones and full colour transformations with renewed confidence.
Spotted at Colour World 2025, Grant Carr, Aveda colour specialist and founder of 1920 Salon Glasgow shared his prediction for the season ahead: men are ready for blonde.
“Fresh blondes are having their moment for men,” explains Grant. “They bring a confidence to the individual, especially with a full colour transformation.”

The Rise of the Fresh Blonde
This isn’t icy platinum or harsh peroxide territory. Instead, the look leans into softer, creamier tones. Wearable, flattering and modern.
“Whilst a nod to Cloud Dancer, Pantone’s Colour of the Year, this creamier blonde is softer to work with Daniel’s skin tone,” Grant explains. “It’s about enhancing rather than overpowering.”
The result? A blonde that feels intentional, confident and polished — not experimental.

The Technical Breakdown
To achieve this fresh, clean blonde, Grant used:
• Aveda Level 9 Blonde to lift
• Aveda Full Spectrum Demi+ Toner to refine and perfect the tone
The colour was paired with a full texture scissor cut to create movement and softness, with freehand detailing around the face to refine the finish. A precise beard trim completed the look, ensuring balance and structure.
As clients look to refresh their image this spring, offering blonde services for men can drive both bookings and retail conversations. It’s a no-brainer!
