Easydry recertified as B Corp

Winning B Corp status is an arduous and challenging process, so bravo to brands such as Easydry who persevere. The award of B Corporation is shorthand for a name with a conscience, a code of ethics and a promise to look after the planet. And that’s not all… once you’ve attained B Corp status, you have to continually reaffirm your claim and gain recertification every three years.

In 2022, Easydry, the company behind the original compostable towel, was officially recertified. This reaffirmed Easydry’s position as a leader in sustainable business for the hair and barbering industry across the UK and beyond.

The devotion to sustainability (Easydry was among the first 10 companies/brands in Ireland to achieve B Corp status) demonstrates measurable progress across every area of the business. In effect, the brand is setting new standards for salons looking to reduce their environmental impact without compromising quality.

What it means for salons

To remain a B Corp, businesses must undergo a rigorous reassessment every three years, reviewing their impact on governance, workers, community, customers, and the environment.

Retaining its status, Easydry showed the company had improved in all five areas, proving it’s not standing still—it’s setting new benchmarks for the industry.

We built Easydry to offer salons a better way to work—cleaner, faster, and more sustainable,” says Anne Butterly, Founder and CEO. “This recertification confirms we’re still delivering on that promise—and raising the bar.”

Saving time, water, and energy

Since 2007, Easydry has helped salons save an estimated 11.7 billion litres of water. How? By replacing traditional cotton towels with its 100% compostable, FSC-certified alternative.

Easydry towels:

  • Eliminate the need for water- and energy-intensive laundry
  • Break down fully in just 12 weeks
  • Offer a hygienic, single-use solution for every client

Used in salons across more than 25 countries, Easydry has become a trusted partner for hair professionals who want to cut waste—not corners.

Saluting achievement

The recertification process was led in-house by General Manager Angela Byrne, in close collaboration with Easydry’s operational and customer-facing teams.

“Recertification pushed us to look at every detail,” said Byrne. “It’s not just about what we say—it’s about what we do every day, for our clients and for the planet.”.

Vytal is the parent company behind the Easydry product range.

Multi award-winning Easydry is a new-generation textile made from 100% natural fibres. Invented by Anne Butterly over 20 years ago, Easydry was the first disposable eco-friendly towel in the world. Today, it enables businesses across the globe to reduce their carbon footprint while delivering a cleaner, smarter service to clients and members.

In 2022, Easydry became the first disposable towel company in the world to achieve B Corporation Certification, earning a score of 98.7—one of the highest in Ireland at the time.
