See what Scrummi got up to at #CWUK19
- Global sea-level rise happening faster than in the previous 3,000 years as a result of CO2e being released into our earth’s atmosphere.
- Our everyday detergents and soaps contain a myriad of phosphates and bleaches which is extremely harmful to aquatic life.
- More than a third of all marine life in the English channel now contain plastic micro-fibres in their digestive systems.
- It is now believed that there are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean.
There are 42,000 hairdressing and barbering salons in the UK alone, each and every one of those are washing towels on a weekly basis. Our salons are responsible for washing away at least 42m litres of chemically contaminated water per week and our salon laundry practices are having dramatically damaging effects on our environment. On top of this, it is now understood that the average 5Kg washing machine load of mixed and synthetic fabrics can release up to 6 million plastic micro-fibres into our oceans. It’s worth noting here, that to keep costs low a lot of our Salons are are drying their customer’s hair with polyester cotton blend towels.
Scrummi are proud to be an established brand that offer the salon industry a genuinely sustainable alternative to washing and drying cotton towels.
Scrummi prides itself on being a locally produced plastic free product. They will biodegrade in just 8 – 12 weeks and will save your salon time and money – Imagine never having to do any more Salon Laundry!
