Launched in 2019, with more than 450 entries in the first-ever run of the competition, the Colour World Genius Awards already rank high in the hairdressing industry. In all, the Awards feature seven brilliantly-named trophies; meaningful titles to win that your boss, your team and your clients will applaud. After all, in the current fashion- forward, colour-focussed market, to be awarded as a ‘Colour Genius’ truly is exciting. Importantly, the Colour World Colour Genius Awards are run independent of any colour house. Sponsors help to promote and support the contest, but contestants are free to use any colour products they choose in creating their looks. And judging is conducted with strict anonymity for the contestants to avoid favouritism. Winning a Colour Genius trophy awarded by our illustrious judges – themselves expert colourists and influencers – means a lot!
An independent competition
The inaugural winners ceremony was held last May during the Colour World gathering in London. It had the industry buzzing. Some 300 specially-invited industry guests, finalists, and brand models gathered to enjoy the vibe. In 2020, the awards event will be bigger, with the addition of an after-party held in the Colour World venue.
A parade of models from the Genius Awards’ sponsors provides an opportunity to applaud and admire some of the spectacular colour work demoed during the Colour World day. Tickets go on sale in March 2020.

Creative Colour Genius – for colourists with 6+ years experience
Colour Correction Genius – for colourists with 3+ years experience
Commercial Colour Genius – for colourists with 3+ years experience

Men’s Colour Genius – for colourists with 3+ years experience
#Colourtastic Genius – for colourists with 6+ years experience
Colour Communicator – for colourists with 6+ years experience
