On that note, trend and innovation leader Schwarzkopf Professional is expanding the IGORA portfolio with a brand-new colour palette for 2020, developed specifically for lighter bases: IGORA Muted Desert. Exciting!
The shades
The inspiration comes from the chalky and calm landscapes of the desert – and its bare, sandy surroundings. IGORA Muted Desert offers a colour palette containing four cool and neutral shades on level 7-9 with elegant cool beiges with hues of ash and hints of beige and a powdery finish. The new shades have been specifically developed by Schwarzkopf Professional to slightly counteract unwanted yellow undertones during the processing time; providing the most neutral and cool beige colour result.
Following the success of Schwarzkopf Professional’s first dual application colour collection – IGORA Earthy Clay and Ashy Cedar (for darker bases) – the Muted Desert shades are available in both IGORA’s permanent (IGORA ROYAL) and demi-permanent (IGORA VIBRANCE) colouration lines.
We love the dual application method, it really makes the hairdresser’s work easy! Just use the matching IGORA VIBRANCE shades to refresh the lengths and ends of an IGORA ROYAL service. And use permanent colour only on re-growth areas.

#Muting time
The brand has teamed up with Global Colour Ambassador Lesley Jennison to develop two new salon services using the new signature #Muting application technique. The perfect way to showcase the versatility of the IGORA Muted Desert colour palette: the Muted Shadows and the Muted Light. The Muted Shadows is a blend of powdery and cool beiges created through a beautifully soft and muted gradient. Ideal for a sophisticated look. The Muted Light is a touch of soft powdery greys, combined with a beautifully lighted frame. For a cool and elegant colour result!
