Colour pop

A witty use of colour on the catwalks of Milan Fashion Week this season caught our eye (well, colour isn’t so easy to spot at the shows so this pleased us greatly!) For Byblos SS18, stylist Adrian Clark and his ghd Italia artistic team introduced a double strip of joy to the models hair. Inspired by films like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, the intention was to capture the discipline of martial arts and strong women in the hair. Tucking hair behind the year, and braiding small sections either side to keep it back, the team then allowed the rest of the loose hair to fall over the hidden braid. Masking tape was placed on the hair horizontally from shoulder to shoulder, leaving 2cm gaps for painting on clear gel mixed with solid pigments. Lift off the tape, and you have clean graphic lines in the hair.
