For over a century, the history of L’Oréal Professionnel has been a result of our pioneering innovations. In 1909, we created the first harmless hair colour. Fast-forward to eleven years ago, we created INOA, the first oil-powered, ammonia-free, odourless permanent hair colour. In 2020, we continue to be at the forefront of professional colour innovation, alongside haircare and styling.
This year, we relaunched our hero in hair colour, Majirel – over 40 years strong. We changed everything but the iconic formula, with a broad colour spectrum that allows hair artists to create with confidence in the high performance results.
At L’Oréal Professionnel, we identify new trends and innovation to meet the wide range of needs in our industry. In 2019, with Majirel Glow, the 1st* translucent permanent colour for a neutralised finish and extreme luminosity, we heralded a change in hair colour that is here to stay – the ‘glow’ effect. And now, in 2020, this technology for Glow has extended to our INOA family to create the 1st oil-glow colour for the ultimate experience in ammonia-free and optimal scalp comfort.
Beyond product and service innovations, our pioneering spirit also goes through strong digital initiatives such as the augmented reality on our Style My Hair App and Access, our digital e-learning platform. Since the very beginning of L’Oréal Professionnel, education has been at the heart of the brand with a classroom-based system. We engage with our top hair artists to co-create content and share pro tips anywhere anytime on our Access online. This platform offers a true “education by pros for pros” to learn and connect with pros thanks to content 100% co-developed with top hair artists.
