Opal-Essence: Silver Mauve

Silver Mauve by Opal-Essence

With intense violet tones and silver hues, Silver Mauve is  arguably the boldest of the five new Opal-Essence shades. It’s great for clients who want to make a statement with strong tonal results or to add areas of interest to natural brunettes. Of the five Opal-Essence shades, Silver Mauve is the most neutralising and offers the most vivid tone. This means that porous parts of the hair will have more tonal dominance… Nice!

Q&A WITH EDWARD SWEENEY

Edward Sweeney

We caught up with Edward Sweeney, Wella Professionals global capabilities manager, to find out how he would use the Silver Mauve shade:

What do you love most about this shade?

This is the most potent shade and believe it or not has become my go to for lightening natural hair in a soft gentle way. Also Silver mauve is beautiful on its own as a thread through blonde hair.

What are your top tips for using this shade?
It is the strongest of the shades so be sure to keep an eye on it but don’t be fearful of it.

What’s your favourite way to mix this shade?
On its own it has quickly become a hero for me. However mixing with an ILLUMINA COLOR creates neutrals and depth beautifully.

How would you use this shade as a quick colour service?
As an Express Opalizing service on tired blonde hair it will illuminate unwanted warn tones.

Have you had good feedback from clients on the new shades and if so, what do they say about it?
Clients love the strength of the tonality, but also how it changes with movement.
