Q&A WITH EDWARD SWEENEY

Edward Sweeney

We caught up with Edward Sweeney, Wella Professionals global capabilities manager, to find out more about how he would use the Chrome Olive shade:

What do you love most about this shade?
This is my Balayage hero, Intermixing chrome olive with deeper shades from ILLUMINA COLOR is amazing to melt dark to light over a pre-lightened blend. The natural hair will gently lighten or tone while remaining cool with warm hues to keep it natural looking while the blended areas transition seamlessly with a cool/warm reflection.

What are your top tips for using this shade?
Use it more, People tend to shy away from green however on brassy and unwanted tones it gives a beautiful yet natural result.

What’s your favourite way to mix this shade?
With a deeper cool shade from Illumina Color such as 7/81 and 6/19.

How would you use this shade as a quick colour service?
As a root melt working from dark to light.

Have you had good feedback from clients on the new shades and if so, what do they say about it?
They love the tonal reflections they see, especially on warm bands that sometimes appear in a balayage service.
