NEIL BARTON HAIR TRENDS FOR SS20

Neil Barton, owner of Neil Barton Hair salon and Goldwell ambassador is giving us some  fantastic colour quotes for this spring and summer hair trends. He is talking buttery and lemon cream blondes, rich nutty mid-tones for brunettes, softer tones of peaches and dusky pinks, and we are here for it!

Pretty blondes

Blonde shades never go out of style. Summer or winter, blonde is always strong. During the cold months we noticed a lot of warm-toned blondes with golden and honey hues. Silver and platinum blondes are always a winter favourite as well, giving that icy, snow-inspired look.
Back to the warmer season coming: light, soft blondes are coming more into play. We expect to see crisp champagne hues and pink-infused platinums that look a bit more natural and effortless. Honey tones mixed with lighter, icier shades will also be on trend. Great to infuse into the hair to liven up blonde colour and give it more dimension and tone.
Two of my favourite blonde hues for the season are rich tea, a buttery tone that create a must-have effect and lemon cream, a yellow inspired blonde that has a refreshing, clean and light touch.” says Neil.

Playful pastels and strong contrasts

For something more fun, muted pastel tones are strong this season. Think softer tones that fade beautifully like peaches, lilacs and dusky-like pinks. Fave pastel hues for the season: Lilatech, a modern version of classic lilac with a gender-neutral appeal; Sakura pink, a peachy pink shade with a great saturation depth and Neo Mint, a gorgeous fashion colour that embodies a forward-thinking and optimistic mood.
If you consider yourself a colour genious, know that colour contrasting will be huge as we head further into 2020. With this look most of the hair remains one colour, however, the face is framed and there may be some chunky highlights throughout the hair for a statement finish.

What about brunettes?

Vibrant shades will remain popular, including bright berry hues like Cranberry that isn’t too dramatic or in your face but is a great twist on a dark red and provides the hair with a gorgeous shine.
“For brunettes, rich, nutty mid-tones to extreme darks will be popular that are cool in colour and have a hue of black. Think shades like truffle and nutty hues, both of which infuse tones of blue and red and are classic and extremely versatile hues.” Neil adds.

This hair colour has a slight blue tint to it and is particularly great for brunettes who want to give their hair an update for the New Year, as bleach does not need to be used to create this dark red maroon-like hue.
