A glorious, hot July day was apt for the Celebration of Color 2026 powered By Goldwell. Revisiting and refreshing the traditional annual gathering for the brand, this new format for a Summer celebration quickly proved a hit with guests – including the Colour World team. The intention was to meld creativity, connection and commercial inspiration. That’s a big fat 10/10 from us. The vibe, the attention to detail, the looks and techniques shared, and the evident camaraderie were all on show.

Using the renowned private members country style club Hurlingham in London, Goldwell UKI hosted an event devised especially for the professional hairdressing community.

The brand team wished to bring together salon professionals, educators, artists, and industry creatives for a dynamic day of artistry, education, and connection. And in all honesty, they did.
Celebrating artistry
Working within a wonderful glass-covered central hall with several breakout spaces attached, the Goldwell team revealed a programme of demonstrations, presentations and some playful workshops, too. Frequent changes of scene and shorter, snappier stage time kept the day’s pace brisk and upbeat. From tuition by leading colourists and cutters, to education on wellbeing, and the chance to try products, this was an eclectic mix. Over one short day, it was possible to dip into so many facets of the Goldwell activity and product portfolio.

Christel Grootentraast, General Manager of Goldwell UKI, welcomed guests saying this was “a true Goldwell family experience designed to create meaningful connection and inspiration for the future of professional hairdressing.”
Hurrah from us – an opportunity to explore modern salon practices and learn how to build business.
Following the programme
In the central, sun-filled Palm Court area, the stage showed a diverse line up of artists exploring colour, structure, texture, and styling through a fashion led and salon relevant lens:
• Lydia Wolfe’s colour presentation inspired by Expressionism

• Kathryn Dartnell and Nicole Pizer’s luxury-focused styling session from Oribe celebrating timeless beauty and elevated salon craftsmanship

• Anthony Grant and Jack Mead’s architectural inspired exploration of line and colour

• Pete Burkill’s vibrant Elumen showcase celebrating self-expression and modern artistry.

Switching the mood, a darker, more intimate setting in The Mulgrave Auditorium hosted more masterclasses including:
• Casey Coleman’s immersive masterclass on creative expression and trend led colour placement using the Goldwell portfolio

• Goldwell Art Squad mentor Mark Leeson alongside the 2026 Goldwell Art Squad. This presented an insight into next generation talent development, mentorship, and creative collaboration within the industry.

• Louis Byrne’s The Art of Perspective presentation blended storytelling, mindset coaching and live interaction. Louis referenced the need to session explore resilience, identity, and wellbeing within the hair industry. On point for reflecting Goldwell’s wider commitment to supporting salon professionals beyond technical education alone.

Immersive experience
Along with guests, Colour World participated in an immersive, hands-on workshops including the DualSenses Aroma Pulse Roller wellbeing sessions. We visited the KMS Styling Bar to watch express transformations, and loved Elumen’s creativity led Sip & Paint experience celebrating 25 years of Elumen innovation.
Big high five to the energy of Rachel Lomax and Brian Leo McCallum for hosting this. Including playful sessions allowed for plenty of friendly moments, and time to connect with like-minded guests.

The event also gave all salon partners exclusive access to upcoming launches, product innovations, and commercial opportunities across the Goldwell, Kerasilk and KMS portfolios, alongside education previews and retail growth initiatives designed to support long term salon success.
Goldwell Social Stylist Network

A key focus throughout the day was Goldwell’s continued investment in community and future industry growth. The launch of the Goldwell Social Stylist Network invites content creators and digital first stylists to collaborate on future trend, transformation, and educational content. A Goldwell Transformation Takeover campaign celebrated standout creativity from salons across the UK and Ireland.
Alongside creative inspiration, the event delivered a strong commercial message, with education around consultation led services, salon retail strategy and the Goldwell Express Edit service menu highlighting practical opportunities for salons to strengthen client loyalty, increase revenue and elevate the overall client journey.

The last word
Following the success of this new, fresh take on a hairdressing gathering, Christel Grootentraast summed up the event: ,“Celebration of Color has always been about creative inspiration, but this year we wanted to evolve the experience into something even more meaningful for our salon community. From artistry and education to wellbeing, networking and business support, the event was designed to inspire every part of salon life and strengthen the connections that continue to shape our industry.”
With its expanded focus on artistry, wellbeing, education and community, Celebration of Color 2026 reinforced Goldwell’s position as a forward-thinking partner for the modern salon industry and a brand committed to supporting the future of professional hairdressing.
And as for our opinion? It was uplifting, superbly well hosted and every last morsel of creativity, artistry, connection was as delicious as the actual food we enjoyed. Bravo to all those who put it together.
